This year, we celebrate a special milestone: Greenwheels turns 30! A year full of new cars, cool gifts, and grand plans for the future. We are working on our biggest expansion ever: growing to 4,000 shared cars by the end of 2026. By popular demand, we are also adding more car types, starting with the VW Polo!

 

This is what you can expect in March:

 

New cars on the way

By popular demand, we are adding more car types, starting with the VW Polo! But that's not all; more new models are coming in 2025. To manage all this smoothly, adjusted prices will apply from 1 March 2025, offering you more choices. You can then book cars in the following categories:

 

  • Budget: a car with a 10% discount
  • Compact: VW up!, VW e-up!, Seat Mii Electric, Skoda CITIGOe
  • Medium: VW Polo
  • Large: VW ID.3, VW Golf Variant
  • Transport: VW Caddy

Our rates have been updated with the introduction of the new car categories, and are now a lot simpler. Have a look at the overview of all updated prices as of 1 March 2025.

Daily invoicing for 'Occasional' (private)

Have you chosen the 'Occassional' (Soms) rate? From the first of March, you will receive an invoice the day after your trip, which will be automatically debited within 1 to 2 working days via your preferred payment method: direct debit or credit card payment.

 

Cheaper Day Rental for 'Occassional' (private)

Heading out for a day? From 1 March, we will charge a maximum of 10 hours for 'Occassional'. We automatically calculate the best price for your trip (duration). This is already the case for 'Regular' and 'Frequent'. With Frequent, you have the cheapest rates if you need your Greenwheels for a longer time frame. And did you know that you can switch rates every month? This way, you can choose the rate that best suits you at any given time.

 

More good news for Zzp Go

With the Zzp Go rate, you can benefit from the following as of 1 March:

  • Day and Week Deals: Need the car for a day, two days, or even a week? We’ll automatically calculate the best price for your trip.
  • Free cancellation until start: No longer limited to 4 hours before your trip begins.
  • Shorten your trip up to 2 hours: Meeting finished earlier? Shorten your trip via the app and pay less.

 

New: Greenwheels Rewards (private and zzp)

On 3 March, the Greenwheels Rewards programme will go live for everyone with a private or self-employed (Zzp) rate. We have been working on this in secret for months and we promise you: it's going to be great fun! Sign up, achieve milestones, and earn driving credit! Want to know more? See here.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I change my rate/subscription?

We have different rates and plans, each with their own conditions and options. You can choose a new or different rate every month. Not much on the Calendar next month? Switch from Frequent to Regular. Planned a road trip? Definitely change from Occasional to Frequent as this will save you big time.  

You can easily switch to a different rate in My Profile via the website or the app:

Log in to My Profile or go to 'My rate' in the app.

In your dashboard on the website, go to 'my profile' and in the app to 'my settings'

In both cases, choose 'My rate' in the menu.

Your rate appears. Select 'change rate' via the green circle and confirm your choice via 'save'.

Please note: when changing your rate from an ‘old’/former to a new rate, the conditions associated with that new rate apply. If you have switched on the 'deductible' setting, you must switch it on again when you change your rate.

How do I book a long car trip with a discount?

When you book a car, we automatically apply the discount. You do not have to indicate this yourself and you can choose any possible start and end time. The 24 hours, 48 ​​hours, or 7 x 24 hours start when you want. Curious about the price? You can see this if you have selected a car and time slot.

Where can I find my invoice?

If you are the main driver of your account, you can view your invoices in your profile under 'Invoices'. Invoices can be downloaded for your own administration. If you do not see this option, you are not the main driver of the account. Ask the main driver if you want to view an invoice.

Do I pay a starting rate per booking?

Only if you have the Soms/Occassional rate you pay a starting rate per booking. For all other rates, no starting fee applies.

What are the total costs for Greenwheels?

Register
When signing up, you pay a one-off deposit of € 100. You will receive the deposit back in full after your subscription, provided that you pay all your bills. A reservation on your credit card will expire automatically.

Monthly costs
Depending on your subscription, you may or may not pay a monthly subscription fee. The higher these costs, the lower the usage rates.

Usage costs
The total fare is calculated based on the time you book a Greenwheels car and the number of kilometres driven. Also, optional costs may occur for the deductible or when you let us make a booking by phone or email.
